It’s still not fully sunk in yet!, the Lionesses won the Euros at Wembley and many of us were there.
There was 110 of us lucky to have tickets for the final which we brought 12 months before. At the time we were hoping England would be there, once they got past Sweden in the semis, it was reality. Of all the teams for us to play it had to be Germany.
The coaches left at 9:15 and we made good time in getting to Barnet for some football pre Wembley. The u10 girls alongside the u14/15 showcases their skills in competitive matches. The standout match though was our u12’s playing Stotfold in a close game that went to sudden death penalties with our great opponents coming out on top.
Then on to Wembley where we met with some other club members who had tickets and Tottenhams Kerys Harrop.
Then the game began, the rest is history and we were fortunate to see it. The atmosphere was immense, the crowd were rocking and the celebrations carried on all the way home on the coaches.
What an inspiration the England team were. Many of our young players have their very own superb role models and yesterday will only serve to further the girls footballing aspirations and ambitions.
We are nearing 200 female members from our girls to our womens teams and we any wanting to grow it further.
Great pitches, brilliant social facilties, team building club trips, ex players at Academy’s and representing their countries, links to WSL clubs and players, a complete player pathway from 4 year old to womens team and an even brighter future planned is what we can offer anyone joining our great club.
Get in touch if interested in playing or coaching. Free taster sessions and a new wildcats programme are being planned as we prepare for the new season.
