U16 Girls held their end of season and final grassroots football event at the Sports Centre at the end of June.
The girls were pleased to host Prestbury Phantoms for a final time in what proved to be a highly competitive friendly game. Although the result did not go Ross's way, the girls thoroughly enjoyed their final game and thanked Prestbury for making the journey.
Watched on by members of the RJFC committee together with several Ross and Gloucestershire team coaches, the girls, missing a couple of players, were joined by ex member Elsie gave a good account of their football skills. Following the game, the team moved to the club house for food and awards.
Awards presented were. Recognition awards went to the OG's of the team, who have completed the whole of their Grass Roots journey with Ross Juniors, Immy Stephen, Amelia Seal, Issy Willis-Carr, Summer Richardson-Wall and Kate Nanson Cook.
Parents player - Meg Boardman, Players player - Loz Jones, Managers Most improved - Shannon Parton, Coaches Player - Darcy Baker and a special award for the player who has embodied the qualities of a Grassroots Female player for the entire time with the team, Lily Irving.
Coaches were presented with some lovely cards with photos through the years and a gift each. With the signing of shirts and some heartfelt goodbyes, it marked the end of most of the girls time in Junior football with many of them in
progressing into Women's football with one of the Ross adult teams.
The coaches want to thank the players and parents for their time, dedication and effort and to wish the girls the very best of luck in their future endeavours.
