Walking football at Ross Juniors

Ross Juniors Football continues to thrive and expand, with over 500 playing members at present and new teams in all age groups and genders being fielded on a regular basis.

Now Ross Juniors has added Walking Football to its activities. Growing fast nationally, Walking Football is a gentler form of the game intended to entice the over 50s back into football and exercise. The main difference to conventional football is that running and sliding tackles are not allowed, making it ideal for those who’d like to have some fun, keep fit and maybe learn new skills without the risk of injury. On top of that, it’s the chance to get out and about and meet some new friends.

The Ross Juniors Walking Football group is organised by Ron Goulding. ‘I’d be very interested to hear from anyone over 50 who’d like to join in. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve played before or not. All over 50’s, male and female, are very welcome’ says Ron.

The group now meets at Ross Sports Centre every two weeks on Thursdays at 7pm for a one hour session. The next Walking Football session is scheduled for 14th May. Anyone interested can contact Ron on 01989 750546 or by email walk5football@gmail.com
